Always back the horse named self-interest, son. It'll be the only one trying
Tony Pullicino led in the last race at Kapunda on Sunday on his horse Normie. His other stable runner Perfect Playgirl driven by his mum Gaita was on his back and travelling, but hopelessly bailed away with nowhere to go. Coming to the turn it looked liked Perfect Playgirl would be stuck there all the […]
Archie As a horseman, I can tell you that from the visual of the replay it looked sore in the rear end to me. Hence why it didn’t want to muster out of the gates and go at all. Bill from Boulia Editor’s Note I reckon its structurally unsound
Tyler Schiller is best known as a highly successful Group 1 winning jockey who has ridden in a Melbourne Cup. At heart though he is a trot man, just his grandad Phil Schiller was back in the day. Two years backs Tyler paid $18 000 at the APG Sydney sale for a colt by Downbytheseaside. […]
On the same day that the Tanya Parry trained 4-year-old mare I’lltellyouafter died a premature and completely unnecessary death on the dirt track of Richmond, one of its’ stablemates – ironically another 4yo mare named Lively Spirit – finished tailed out by almost 40 lengths in a race at the same meeting on the same […]
Adelaide is a town of about one and a half million people. Last night Globe Derby hosted the best drivers in Australia competing in the national drivers championship. You could count the number of members of the public who turned up to watch on your fingers and toes. Eugowra in NSW is a tiny town […]
The sightings of Australia’s most widely travelled punter Baldy never stop, and the places he turns up at always amaze. This weekend just gone he was spotted at Jundah on the Saturday, and Charleville on Sunday. For those not familiar with Jundah it’s way out west of QLD near Birdsville, not far from the SA […]
There was a protest 2nd v 1st in race 4 at Coonamble. Everyone I spoke to thought it would be upheld. It wasn’t, it was dismissed. What have you gotta do to get a protest upheld these days? Put the runner-up over the fence? ————————————————– Dundeel Flyer – Rider B. Loy was permitted to ride […]
The Australian Drivers Championship held at Globe Derby was an expensive exercise to host and run, what with airfares for drivers to travel to Adelaide from around the country, plus accommodation, entertainment and meals. Sadly the return on the big investment was SFA. There were only about 20 people in the public grandstand at Globe […]
I’lltellyouafter is the 4-year-old mare we wrote about yesterday, the one who broke down in the race at Richmond, who we predicted would be dead before dinner time. Sadly we were right. The question is how did the Stewards allow the mare who had been beaten almost 20 lengths at its previous run and looked […]
I never thought I would say this, because I am a life long Roosters supporter. But I actually hope the Knights win. They are good people up there in Newcastle. Karma says the trophy is theirs.
